25W-60 / SAE 60 wird von Lycoming Service Instruction No. 1014N empfohlen ab 26°C Aussentemperatur. "Für Sternmotoren" im Beschrieb stimmt somit nicht wirklich. Uns hat es im 6-Zylinder Boxermotor geholfen, dass im Sommer bei hoher Öltemperatur der Öldruck nicht zu sehr sinkt. In den heissen Sommermonaten wäre dieses Öl wohl für die meisten sinnvoll, welche normalerweise 20W-50 verwenden.
