Your accurate GPS position is always trnsmitted in case of emergency which is a great plus in safety. Additionally the integrated backup antenna transmits a signal even if the main ELT antenna has failed in a crash. The 406 COMPACT ELT has very small dimensions and is an affordable entry model.
