DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH publishes the Aeronautical Chart ICAO 1:500,000 Edition Gliding for Germany. The chart carries the recommendation of the German Aero Club e.V. With the Aeronautical Chart ICAO 1:500,000 for gliding, Deutsche Flugsicherung is again meeting customer requests.

The official ICAO chart for gliding is produced in the same high quality, the acknowledged clear topography and the familiar colour display as the classic Aeronautical Chart ICAO 1:500,000.

With its specific aeronautical information it offers more safety and flexibility in gliding.

•     all altitude data in meters
•     Airspace dimensions in metres and ft/FL
•     detailed information on gliding areas such as terrain height, runway length and orientation as well as frequency
•     colour highlighting of all airfields with gliding operations
•     Marking of aerodromes with aero-tow operations
•     detailed obstacle display using various symbols such as television towers, wind turbines and high voltage pylons
•     colour coding of the gliding sectors (in C and D areas)
•     large number of known turning points for gliding competitions
•     easier determination of turning points due to an improved display of the coordinate grid

The tried and tested map contains a large number of modified aeronautical information, in particular the areas of responsibility, call signs and frequencies of the flight information services in the Munich, Frankfurt and Berlin areas, which were newly defined this year.

The complete Aeronautical Chart ICAO 1:500,000 Edition Gliding contains eight sheets. Sheet size plano 100 x 48 cm, folded 24 x 14.5 cm.
